Venice Tessera Marco Polo Airport has been operational since 1960 It is located approximately thirteen kilometers from the center of Venice and allows connections with other airports located in Europe as well Scheduled intercontinental flights, operated by the most important global airlines: Delta Air Lines operates two direct connections with the United States of America to New York-JFK and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson, US Airways connects Venice with Philadelphia, while the important company Emirates operates a direct route twice daily to Dubai and Qatar Airways connects Venice to Doha. Two destinations are also active for Canada performed by the airline Air Transat which offers flights to Toronto and Montreal.

Gates

The structure of the Venice Airport terminal includes on the ground floor arrivals, with baggage carousels, a lounge with bar, newsstand, tourist information, sale of public transport tickets and car rental, with the addition of 8 check-in desks, with a total of 70 check-in desks, between the ground floor and first floor, in the area connected to the first floor, there are 8 exit gates for Schengen flights, another 8 Exit gates for non-Schengen flights with a total of 28 gates.
The departures area is located on the first floor, with 62 check-in desks, a restaurant, a newsstand, a bar and two banks as well as airline ticket offices; numerous are also found in the area shops as well as other bars and restaurants. A part of the departures area is dedicated to non-Schengen flights. There are 28 exits in total, 7 of which have telescopic tunnels and direct connection with the aircraft.
On the upper floor, in the check-in room, there are airline offices and ENAC operational offices, while in the sterile area we find the Waiting Room called "Tintoretto Lounge" reserved for SkyTeam customers and the Marco Polo reserved for customers of all other companies
 
 

 
 
How to get there
From the A4 Milan-Padua-Venice motorway, to reach the Venice Airport you need to take the Mestre Villabona exit e follow the Mestre ring road, signs for Airport-A27. After about 6 km turn right and merge onto the SS14 Triestina. After about 300 meters turn left towards the airport.
From the center of Venice take the Ponte della Libertà, following the signs Airport, Treviso-Trieste, reach the San Giuliano roundabout and take the SS14 Triestina, direction Trieste, after Campalto and Tessera center, follow the directions to the airport.
From the A4 Trieste-Udine and A27 Belluno Treviso after the Quarto d'Altino A4 exits and Mogliano Veneto A27, continue on the motorway until the junction for the airport.

Terminal
The new 600 m2 terminal of the Venice Airport is located in the area aircraft parking, runway side, and the small port, on the ground floor there is the Arrivals Hall, on the first floor there are check-ins for departures and the third floor is dedicated to offices and the Tintoretto Lounge and Marco Polo waiting rooms. The management of the airport is entrusted to the SAVE company and boasts a wide choice of direct destinations, including intercontinental ones.

Airlines
For Europe they are frequent connections operated from Venice Airport to the main European hubs, like flights Lufthansa to Frankfurt and Munich, Air France to Paris Charles de Gaulle, KLM to Amsterdam, Iberia to Madrid Barajas and British Airways to London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Ita Airways maintained flights to Brindisi, Cagliari, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Pantelleria and Rome Fiumicino. The new Spanish low-cost airline called Volotea, has made Boeing 717 aircraft available at Venice Airport Marco Polo and will expand with 7 national destinations, Brindisi, Cagliari, Olbia, Palermo and Reggio Calabria, from 5 April 2012 and Alghero and Lampedusa from the end of June and 17 international flights to Alicante, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Budapest, Krakow, Malaga, Porto, Thessaloniki and Santiago de Compostela, from the end of April Corfu, Heraklion, Kos, Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, Split and Valencia from the end of June, giving the Venice airport the possibility of reaching a higher number of destinations avoiding unnecessary stopovers.

Parking
In addition to official car parks, there are also private car parks such as, Marco Polo 2002, Pesco Parking, AliPark or Brusutti. All car parks are open 24 hours a day and offer a shuttle to the airport; generally they have rates at lower prices than airport car parks.

Venice Airport offers numerous facilities and services to meet the needs of its passengers. SAVE Information Point The flight information points, open 24 hours a day, are located on the ground floor, arrivals area, and on the first floor, check-in area. Handling company The offices of the Venice airport handling companies are located on floor 2 of the terminal. Lost & Found The Lost and Found office is open from 09.00 to 19.00. Luggage storage The luggage storage, managed by Cooperativa Trasbagagli S.r.l., is located on the ground floor of the terminal. Hours: 05.00 - 21.00 For lost items you need to go to the Save information points or contact your airline or handling company. Venice airport is covered by a Wi-Fi connection for broadband Internet access. To connect to the Internet you need to purchase a prepaid voucher in the shopping area of the Megabeam site and enter the UserId and Password in the login screen.

Travelex Italia Ltd rents offices and conference rooms complete with all necessary equipment on the ground floor, arrivals area, Floor 1, departures area, and Floor 2, VIP rooms. Hours: Mon-Fri, 08.00-18.00

Alitalia VIP Lounge "Tintoretto" Sky Team, Level 2 Boarding Area, is reserved for passengers of Sky Team companies, such as Alitalia, Air France, Delta, KLM, CSA etc. Tel: 06 2222 - Fax: (39)0412699226 VIP Lounge "Sala Marco Polo", Level 2 - Boarding area, is reserved for passengers holding the Fidelity Card of airlines affiliated with Save, for passengers holding the Marco Polo Card homage cards and for passengers holding the Il Milione Card, which can be purchased at the Save ticket office.

A room dedicated to the faithful is located on Floor 2 - Boarding area.
