Civic Tower
Height
Bell
52 meters high, the Civic Tower, also called Campanone, was the symbol
of the medieval city, by its two
panoramic floors, reachable with a
ultra-modern lift, offers not only
splendid views over the roofs of the centre
historical and on the Alpine chain, but it is an ideal point of view to admire
Old Square.
From the top of the Civic Tower you can see it
the balanced measure of this space and
of the beautiful fountain, donated in 1780
to the city by the Venetian mayor Alvise
Contarini.
The name
Campanone derives from the large one
bell which, in addition to announcing meetings
of the city council, beats
every evening, always at 10pm, more than 100
shots, recalling the ancient curfew, or the ancient
closing of the doors in the evening
city.
